This country is beginning to open its doors to tourism with the calm and hospitality that characterizes its people, far from conventional tourist routes. Here, we’ll find some of the best-kept treasures of the Algerian Sahara — a wild and authentic environment, without frills or pretension, but with the grandeur of one of the most spectacular deserts in the world.
Our 4×4 route will take us to the Great South of Algeria, crossing vast desert expanses, unique landscapes, and the impressive Tassili mountains, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On this off-road route, following the spirit of the great 20th-century explorations, you’ll discover cave paintings, petroglyphs, and Neolithic remains that reveal a Sahara which, thousands of years ago, was fertile and full of life.
The 4×4 adventure will take us to Djanet, the “pearl of the Tassili,” and from there to the Tadrart region, with its most breathtaking off-road scenery between Ali Demna and Tin Merzouga. We’ll explore hidden gueltas between rock formations, natural arches sculpted by the wind, and oases where life endures despite the desert’s extreme harshness.
